Hydrometer

A hydrometer consists of a glass sphere with a tube weighted on one end and a scaled tube on the other. When used, it is placed in the liquid whose density is to be measured. If the density of the liquid is high, the hydrometer body floats out. The density of the liquid can be understood from the top surface of the liquid coming onto the body. As the density of the liquid increases, the hydrometer rises and floats. The density of the liquid is read from the scale on the body of the hydrometer. The scale intervals are incorrect. At higher densities, the scale lines become more frequent.
